One of my favorite photos I’ve seen on Twitter is of a little kitten being held close to a lady’s heart with the caption “She thinks she rescued me but she got that backwards.”
I thought I rescued you from the cold, scary life of a barn cat. Looking back over our 10 years together, I see what could have been a scary life for me with many unexpected gains and losses, made so much more manageable and enjoyable because no matter what hit me, I could always come home and hold you close to my heart. I look forward to you rescuing me many, many more times in the future with your purrs, leg rubs and overall adorableness.
